It was a good run, but the Milton-Union Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 49-31 fall against Miami East. Milton-Union has not had much luck with Miami East recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Milton-Union's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Berberich, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, and Jenna Brumbaugh who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Brumbaugh is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Miami East had a senior duo take command as Mckayah Musselman scored 15 points along with five rebounds and Maryn Gross scored nine points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Logan Phillips, who scored five points along with three steals.
Milton-Union's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3. As for Miami East, they pushed their record up to 16-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton-Union the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Dayton Christian at 6:45 p.m. on January 22nd. Dayton Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 595th, while Milton-Union is ranked 193rd). As for Miami East, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Anna at 7:30 p.m. Anna has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
