After flying high against the Annandale Atoms last Saturday, the Herndon Hornets came back down to earth. Herndon was the victim of a rough 71-51 defeat at the hands of Westfield on Wednesday. Herndon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westfield apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Westfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jemon Price, who scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Price has scored at least 25% of Westfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathias Lee, who scored 14 points.
Herndon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Herndon will head out on the road to face off against Justice at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. John's at 10:15 a.m. on December 9th.
