Even though the Wimberley Texans have not done well against the Navarro Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Wimberley took down the Panthers 48-32. For Wimberley, this counts as revenge for the 64-58 loss the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Navarro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tegan Harborth. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 46.9% of Navarro's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wimberley's win bumped their record up to 21-15. As for Navarro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-12.
Wimberley will head out on the road to challenge the at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Lake has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Navarro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians/Squaws at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Jourdanton is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
