The Big Spring Bulldogs will face off against the James Buchanan Rockets at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Big Spring's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Big Spring and Shippensburg had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Greyhounds on Wednesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Victoria Rinaldi was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izzy Fry, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Big Spring was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for James Buchanan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over West Perry on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Rockets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Lilianna Wiley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Amsley, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
James Buchanan now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Big Spring, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Big Spring hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like James Buchanan struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Big Spring's way against James Buchanan when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Big Spring made off with a 13-2 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
