The Millard West Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Lincoln Southeast Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Millard West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
Millard West is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Papillion-LaVista South on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Millard West came up short against Papillion-LaVista South, falling 72-51. The Wildcats have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Trey Abara, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter LaBorde, who posted ten points and six boards.
Even though they lost, Millard West was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. This was only their 11th loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast came up short against Millard North on Tuesday and fell 71-58.
Like Millard West, Lincoln Southeast lost despite seeing results from several players. Prospedi Mukendi led the charge by going 8-for-10 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Mukendi is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Chewy Thoat was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 16 points and seven boards.
Lincoln Southeast has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Millard West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Millard West has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.1% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Southeast struggles in that department as they've made 35% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Millard West came up short against Lincoln Southeast in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 76-70. Can Millard West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
