After four games on the road, Osmond/Randolph is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Osmond/Randolph didn't have too much trouble with Winside on the road as they won 39-22.
Among those leading the charge was Keli Aschoff, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Sophie Gansebom, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Even though Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has not done well against Wayne recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge skirted past Wayne 56-53. The win was just what Laurel-Concord-Coleridge needed coming off of a 44-22 loss in their prior game.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mallory Eriksen led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Eriksen continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rena Rasmussen, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Osmond/Randolph's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Tuesday's game is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Osmond/Randolph have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Laurel-Concord-Coleridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 30.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
