Elkhart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madyson Brillhart, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Brillhart has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabel Gonzalez, who scored five points along with nine assists and six rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Elkhart and bumps their season record up to 6-5. As for Syracuse, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhart on the road again on Thursday and play against Deerfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Syracuse, they will face off against Lakin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
