Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart is a perfect 3-0 against Colonial Christian since February of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones will host the Colonial Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Ferguson by a score of 9-8.
Veronica Franzino was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Althage was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Even though they lost, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Colonial Christian had just enough and edged out Hialeah Educational Academy 21-20 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Zoe Friman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Destiny Polles, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six runs, and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rachel Neyra, who scored five runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
The win got Colonial Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Colonial Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's way against Colonial Christian in their previous meeting back in February, as Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart made off with a 16-1 victory.
