Lapwai fell to Genesee 14-54 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Lapwai took the match and then some with a 68-20 win on Friday over Genesee. The success made it back-to-back wins for Lapwai.
Lapwai's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 46 points in the first half. Genesee came up with 14 to make it 46-14 heading into the break. The Lapwai defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup. The victory bumped their record up to 2-1. Genesee are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Lapwai take on Clearwater Valley at Clearwater Valley High School at 7:00 PM. Genesee will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against Prairie in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
