The Pelion Panthers won the last time they faced the Swansea Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Pelion put the hurt on Swansea with a sharp 57-37 victory.
Pelion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolton Rogers out in front who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Lucas New, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
When it comes to explaining why Swansea lost, one person who can't be blamed is Donnell Goodwin. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. The contest was Goodwin's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Pelion's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Swansea, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelion will square off against Fox Creek at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Fox Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Swansea and Dreher will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Dreher's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Swansea has been banged up by 16 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
