There's no place like home for the Denmark-Olar Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past Calhoun County with a 54-49 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Denmark-Olar also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Tykeen Ross was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Ross is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Robert Bovain, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds.
Calhoun County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kerron Scott, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Wallace, who scored 14 points.
Denmark-Olar pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Calhoun County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denmark-Olar will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 816 points over their last 11 games. As for Calhoun County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Lake Marion is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
