The Brookfield Warriors will face off against the McDonald Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
On Monday, Brookfield got the win against Liberty by a conclusive 15-4. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.
Cassi Samios made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Samios was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brookfield got a massive performance out of Mariah Norris, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Elaina Boyce, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Brookfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, McDonald's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Chaney a 5-0 shutout.
Madison Streeter looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
McDonald's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Brookfield, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Brookfield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. However, it's not like McDonald struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brookfield got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 against McDonald by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
