Even though Rye scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Colorado Springs Christian still came out on top. Colorado Springs Christian came out on top against Rye by a score of 42-34.
Colorado Springs Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Moore, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Jace Velasquez was another major influence, as he rushed for 75 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, Banning Lewis Academy put another one in the bag two Fridays ago to keep their undefeated season alive. They breezed by Peyton on the road to the tune of 28-0. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Banning Lewis Academy had established a 26 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Banning Lewis Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Early, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Dylan Skinner made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Their wins bumped Colorado Springs Christian to 5-1 and Banning Lewis Academy to 6-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Colorado Springs Christian commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Banning Lewis Academy struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6.2 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Colorado Springs Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Banning Lewis Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 26-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colorado Springs Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
