Thornton Academy faced Bonny Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over the Scots. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Bonny Eagle's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drew Gervais, who picked up 119 receiving yards and one score, and Colin Moran, who threw for 185 yards and a pair of TDs.

The win (which was Thornton Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.6 points over those games. As for Bonny Eagle, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 7-1.

Thornton Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-14 win against Noble on the 30th. As for Bonny Eagle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 44-6 victory against Scarborough on the 31st.
