The Bloomfield Bees's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Mary. Bloomfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Mary's apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Bloomfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Mackeprang, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mackeprang has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Warrior, who scored 11 points.
Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for St. Mary's, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Plainview at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. St. Mary's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Creighton at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Creighton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while St. Mary's is ranked 92nd).
