The Gibault Catholic Hawks and the Pinckneyville Panthers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gibault Catholic is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Gibault Catholic's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 55-42 victory over Father McGivney Catholic.
Meanwhile, Pinckneyville pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mt. Vernon 66-61.
Gibault Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Pinckneyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Gibault Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Pinckneyville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 59-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gibault Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
