Gateway Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They took a hard 27-8 fall against StoneBridge. Gateway Christian has not had much luck with StoneBridge recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Gateway Christian used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Avery Roth,
Lanyah Franklin, and
Piper Harrison posted two points each.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead StoneBridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikaylah Telfer, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Telfer hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Busby, who scored four points along with seven steals.
Gateway Christian's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for StoneBridge, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Gateway Christian will head out on the road to face off against Atlantic Shores Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for StoneBridge, they will head out on the road to challenge Hampton Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton Christian Academy will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something StoneBridge surely won't give up without a fight.
