Softball Recap: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Lake Catholic Cougars. Considering the Royals have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lily Siemen made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bianca Czarnecki, who went 1-for-2 with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Bronowski, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Lake Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
