Highlands has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Scott Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 379 points over their last seven games.
Last Friday, Highlands humbled Conner with a 58-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Highlands, who have now won six matches by 30 points or more so far this season.
Cam Giesler was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 56 receiving yards. Giesler's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another big playmaker for Highlands was Adam Surrey, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-7, which was the final score in Scott's tilt against Dixie Heights on Friday. While losing is never fun, Scott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Dixie Heights is ranked 40th).
Highlands' victory lifted them to 8-1 while Scott's defeat dropped them down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Highlands against Scott in their previous meeting back in August of 2019 as the team secured a 42-13 victory. Does Highlands have another victory up their sleeve, or will Scott turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
