Volleyball Recap: Carrizo Springs Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Carrizo Springs came into Tuesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Dilley Wolves 3-0 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season so far.

Carrizo Springs walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-10, 25-23.

Leading Carrizo Springs to victory were Giada Gonzalez and Izabella Alfaro. Gonzalez had 13 assists and two aces, while Alfaro had six digs and two assists. Those two assists gave Alfaro a new career-high. Melanie Davila also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Carrizo Springs' win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Dilley, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Carrizo Springs and Dilley will both be playing Hondo the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Owls at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
