The Jacksonville Crimsons lost against the Rochester Rockets back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Jacksonville took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rochester. Jacksonville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jacksonville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zara Harper, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Maressa Williams, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Jacksonville were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Rochester was led to victory by Taylor Offer and Delaney Farris. Offer scored 13 points along with six steals, while Farris scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Farris has scored at least 25% of Rochester's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Stock, who scored ten points.
Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Rochester, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Jacksonville will head out on the road to face off against Illinois School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rochester will be home for the holidays to greet Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
