If the Boyd Anderson Cobras were feeling good off their 61-31 takedown of the Deerfield Beach Bucks last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Boyd Anderson took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mighty Dragons. While losing is never fun, Boyd Anderson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Mighty Dragons are ranked 42nd).
Despite the loss, Boyd Anderson still got an impressive performance from Niteno Pierre, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Theodore Richardson III, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Stranahan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Yeargin led the charge by scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds. David Nealy was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Boyd Anderson now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Stranahan, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Boyd Anderson will head out on the road to take on the Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northeast will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Stranahan's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Paladins at 8:30 p.m. on January 25th. One thing working in South Plantation's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups.
