The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Lake Marion 62-35 at home. Given Orangeburg-Wilkinson's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Lake Marion is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jason Booker, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Booker scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Mark Jamison, who scored 11 points.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahkye Deas, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Deas posted two or more blocks. Mason Miles was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.93 points. As for Lake Marion, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Battery Creek at 7:30 p.m. on December 26th. As for Lake Marion, they will head out on the road to face off against First Baptist School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
