The Carnegie Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Binger-Oney on the road and fell 67-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carnegie in their matchups with Binger-Oney: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Carnegie still got an impressive performance from Karlee Tahkofper, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Tahkofper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wenzday Burcum, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Carnegie bumped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Binger-Oney, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Carnegie on the road again on Thursday and play against Shattuck at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Binger-Oney won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Apache on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Apache is ranked 200th, while Binger-Oney is ranked 216th).
