Farrell is 9-1 against Rocky Grove since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Farrell Steelers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rocky Grove Orioles at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Farrell scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Commodore Perry, posting a 87-38 victory on the road. Farrell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 34 points or more this season.
Farrell's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Juelz Johnson, who scored 20 points along with six assists and six rebounds, and Danny Odem iii, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Odem iii has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dontaye Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Even though Rocky Grove has not done well against Kennedy Catholic recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Rocky Grove walked away with a 75-63 win over Kennedy Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Rocky Grove relied on the efforts of Noah Baughman, who scored 23 points along with five assists and three steals, and Landen Carter, who shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Baughman is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Focht, who scored nine points.
Farrell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Rocky Grove, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Farrell against Rocky Grove in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 68-34 win. Will Farrell repeat their success, or does Rocky Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
