It was a good run, but Columbia Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Cougars who fell 6-4 when the teams previously met back in May of 2024.

Columbia Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trent Buckley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Columbia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Oak Forest Academy, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

While Columbia Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
