The Lake Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Picayune 43-39.
Leading Picayune to victory were Rhyen Goss and Carleigh Guillotte. Goss scored ten points, while Guillotte scored five points along with 18 rebounds. The matchup was Goss' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Devin Adkins, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Lake has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Picayune, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Lake will head out on the road to face off against Southeast Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Southeast Lauderdale is ranked 193rd, while Lake is ranked 186th). Picayune will be home for the holidays to greet Forrest County Agricultural at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
