Fullerton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Katella Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fullerton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
Fullerton scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top against Santa Ana by a score of 64-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Baylor Wilks was his usual excellent self, shooting 7-for-11 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 39 points and ten rebounds. Those 39 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jeremy Guillen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Katella's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Santa Ana 82-48.
Fullerton pushed their record up to 6-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Katella, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Fullerton strolled past Katella when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a score of 72-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fullerton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
