Voyager Academy has gone a perfect 7-0 against Eno River Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. On Wednesday, Voyager Academy got the win against Chapel Hill by a conclusive 11-2. Considering the Vikings have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bryce Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Voyager Academy got a massive performance out of Cameron Copley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Adam Freiburger was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Voyager Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chapel Hill only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Eno River Academy lost 19-2 to Voyager Academy on Tuesday. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Voyager Academy's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Eno River Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Everything went Voyager Academy's way against Eno River Academy in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Voyager Academy made off with a 19-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
