Baseball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Holy Family's 12th in Last 13 Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Holy Family had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Evergreen Cougars 10-0. Considering the Tigers have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Holy Family got a great performance from Joshua Grenzenbach as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Grenzenbach has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Holy Family let Logan Seifarth and Eddie Hill run wild. Seifarth went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hill got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Hill's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Holy Family was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evergreen only posted a batting average of .062.

Holy Family is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Evergreen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8-1.

Looking ahead, Holy Family will take on Severance at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Silver Knights will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Evergreen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
