Basketball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES

The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Westover Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Roanoke Valley Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Westover Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 victory over Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy.

Westover Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Evans, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Evans has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Westover Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy only racked up five assists.

Meanwhile, Roanoke Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 36-29 to Temple Christian. The game was a 11-11 toss-up at halftime, but the EAGLES couldn't quite close it out.

Roanoke Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Westover Christian Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Everything came up roses for Westover Christian Academy against Roanoke Valley Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 57-27 victory. In that match, Westover Christian Academy amassed a halftime lead of 33-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
