Volleyball Recap: Willow Takes a Loss

After flying high against Carver Collegiate Academy last Wednesday, Willow came back down to earth. The Lions lost 3-0 to the Benjamin Franklin Falcons on Monday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

While Willow was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-22, 25-10.

Despite the loss, Willow still got an impressive performance from Chloe West, who had 14 digs and two assists. West is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Maleah Leal, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last five matches.

Willow's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Benjamin Franklin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Willow has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Warren Easton on the 8th. As for Benjamin Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against John Curtis Christian on the 7th.
