Northern State recap November 5, 2013
New Prairie extended the longest winning streak in Northern State this week by beating Plymouth, 42-21. The win marks 11th in a row for the the Cougars.
Glenn took down Hammond 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zach Combes ran for 174 yards during the win.
The Falcons' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Daniel Wallace threw for 28 and 1 touchdown and Tyler Prentkowski had 28 yards receiving. On the ground Combes chipped in 174 yards.
Combes provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Glenn bested the Wildcats.
Combes was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Prentkowski added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
Glenn's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wallace has thrown for 665 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Prentkowski has 16 catches for 341 yards.
New Prairie's Tyler Weller is a mere 86 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 73 carries Weller has put up 914 yards this year.
Dave Sharpe's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,080 from 5,885. The advance stemmed from a 43-0 victory over Hammond last week.
