The Howard Hawks had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They skirted past Varsity Opponent 46-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Howard also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Howard found their leader in underclassman Keegan Roberts, who scored 23 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Roberts posted two or more blocks. Zach Danzig was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Howard is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they dropped their record down to 338-1218-2 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home.
Howard will head out on the road to take on the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tapestry Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Hawks likes a good challenge. As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mare Island Tech Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
