The Mobile Christian Leopards put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Thomasville at home to the tune of 45-14. Fans of Mobile Christian have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Mobile Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jason Todd out in front who rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Moore, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Thomasville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Decorian Cowan. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
Mobile Christian's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Monroe County and 1-8 Munroe (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.7% over those games). As for Thomasville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mobile Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beulah at 7:00 p.m. on November 11th. As for Thomasville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarke County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clarke County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Thomasville is ranked 80th).
