Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Heritage Academy Gateway's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Heritage Academy Gateway's strategy against Heritage Academy on Thursday. The Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes were the clear victor by a 76-52 margin over the Heritage Academy Heroes. Heritage Academy Gateway has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Academy Gateway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Harper, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Harper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Talon Lemieux, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Harper wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Heritage Academy Gateway was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Heritage Academy Gateway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Heritage Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.
