The Norland Vikings's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sports Leadership & Management at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Norland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Clearwater 57-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Norland has posted since November 25, 2023.
Jasmine Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Shania Swan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Sports Leadership & Management slipped by Southridge 50-49 on Thursday. Given Sports Leadership & Management's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Southridge is ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Norland's record now sits at 6-11. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Norland was able to grind out a solid victory over Sports Leadership & Management when the teams last played back in November of 2019, winning 51-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
