The Panther Valley Panthers were the  50-37 winner over the Pottsville Crimson Tide when they last played one another  back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Panther Valley fell  51-39 to Pottsville on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points Panther Valley has scored all season.
 When it comes to explaining why Panther Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Chase Weaver. Despite the final result, he  scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Thomas Buyce, who  scored nine points.
 Panther Valley  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only four  offensive rebounds. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Pottsville found their leader in underclassman  Christian Alvarez, who  scored 18 points. The  contest was  Alvarez's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Chase Oswald, who  scored ten points.
 Panther Valley has  been struggling recently, as they've  lost three of their last four matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Pottsville, their win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 7-5.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Panther Valley won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against Weatherly at 7:00  p.m.  on January 5th. As for Pottsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Mountain at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday.
