The Walnut Mustangs were the 77-59 winner over the Los Altos Conquerors when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Walnut took a 55-37 bruising from Los Altos on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Walnut has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Walnut had strong showings from Nathan Yen, who scored 13 points, and Cory Fluker, who scored seven points.
This is the second loss in a row for Walnut and nudges their season record down to 16-7. As for Los Altos, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut will take on Wilson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 601st, while Walnut is ranked 220th). As for Los Altos, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against South Hills at 6:30 p.m. South Hills is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
