Tuscola is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Apex Friendship is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mountaineers will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tuscola 3.6, Apex Friendship 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Tuscola earned a 6-1 victory over Pisgah.

Amos Rich was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Those 19 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.
Rich wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in February. Isaiah Hyatt was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Apex Friendship gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Green Hope 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.
Tyler Komorner looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Braden Bloom was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Connor Payne, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Apex Friendship's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Tuscola, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tuscola has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Apex Friendship struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
