Softball Recap: Water Valley Wins Going Away Against Rosa Fort

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bruce, Water Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rosa Fort Lions with a sharp 27-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won seven games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Belle Belcher was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryley Hill, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Water Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. Rosa Fort dropped their record down to 0-6-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Water Valley will challenge Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Water Valley has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Rosa Fort, they will face off against Greenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
