Winslow is 0-10 against Snowflake since September of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Lobos at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Winslow barely beat Chinle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.
Winslow never let Chinle on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Snowflake made easy work of Benjamin Franklin on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Lobos haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
While Snowflake won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 25-20.
Snowflake's win came from a few key players Winslow will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hailey Jones, who had 23 assists and six digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Lyman, who had six digs and three assists.
Winslow's record is now 20-18-1. As for Snowflake, their record now sits at 29-8-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Winslow has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Snowflake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Winslow couldn't quite get it done against Snowflake when the teams last played back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
