The Fullerton Indians pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Fullerton and Kellis wasn't particularly close, with Fullerton falling 70-56. While losing is never fun, Fullerton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 607th in California, while Kellis is ranked 201st in Arizona).
Fullerton's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Myvett and Baylor Wilks. Myvett scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Wilks scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Jad Mustafa, who scored four points.
Even though they lost, Fullerton were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kellis only posted 27 assists.
Kellis found their leader in underclassman Zion Woods, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Woods has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Parrish, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Fullerton now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Kellis, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
