Rakiyah Peele was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds for Bertie. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Peele has scored at least a third of Bertie's points. Kydra Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Tarboro has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Bertie, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9.
Tarboro will square off against Perquimans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Perquimans will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Tarboro surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bertie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hertford County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
