For the first time this season, Fremont will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Omaha Westside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Omaha Westside took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fremont, who comes in off a win.
While Fremont's victory against Burke wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-25 win over the Bulldogs on Friday.

Fremont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayden Bohaboj out in front who rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 120 yards and one TD. What's more, Bohaboj racked up 98.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Fremont also got a significant boost from Tyson King, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Fremont proved: they limited Burke to a paltry -0.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Max Cooper for the heroic effort on defense: he. Fremont's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.4.
Fremont's defense didn't let Jasiah Summerfield, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Burke's QB won't forget Carver Kroeger anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Omaha Westside didn't have quite enough to beat Omaha Central on Friday and fell 31-28. The close contest was extra heartbreaking for the Warriors, who almost overcame a 21 point deficit.
Fremont will have to keep a close watch on Tay Tay Jenkins and Braylen Warren, a pair of players who had a big impact on Omaha Westside's prior game. Jenkins gained 272 total yards and three touchdowns, while Warren threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Fremont pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.3 points over those games. As for Omaha Westside, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.
Fremont took a serious blow against Omaha Westside when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 63-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jenkins, who rushed for 121 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Now that the Tigers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
