While it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, the Continental Pirates were not quite the Hicksville Aces's equal in the second half on Friday. Continental was the victim of a tough 49-24 loss at the hands of Hicksville. Continental can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their three games.
Hicksville found their leader in underclassman Garrett Turnbull, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Turnbull is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Braxztyn Heisler was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Continental's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Hicksville, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.
Continental will take on Lincolnview at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hicksville, they will head out on the road to face off against Bryan at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
