Quartz Hill is 8-2 against Lancaster since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Royals will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Quartz Hill will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Palmdale, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Royals claimed a resounding 55-18 victory over the Falcons. The Royals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Quartz Hill found their leader in sophomore Kemir Smith, who rushed for 124 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those 124 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Smith. Quartz Hill also got help from Zion Poole, who showed off his sure hands for 89 receiving yards.
Quartz Hill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
One reason for the win was Quartz Hill's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Ashlee Palmer was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself. Palmer is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Lancaster entered their tilt with Eastside on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 48-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Lions are ranked 989th).
Lancaster's win came from a few key players Quartz Hill will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Walker, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michael Marsenich, who threw for 167 yards and two TDs.
Lancaster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Nwafor and Keanu Sosa. Sosa got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Quartz Hill's record is now 2-3. As for Lancaster, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Quartz Hill has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lancaster struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 225 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Quartz Hill came up short against Lancaster in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 7-0. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
