After a string of five wins, the Trenton Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Madison County 52-47. Trenton has not had much luck with Madison County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Trenton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Owens, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Grant, who scored eight points.
Labron Lee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison County, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. Micah Newman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Trenton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Madison County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Trenton will head out on the road to square off against Lafayette at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lafayette has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 499 points over their last seven games. As for Madison County, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Chiles at 7:30 p.m. Chiles is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
