St. Joseph Academy and University Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Flashes will face off against the Christians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Jacob Guthmiller tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Patrick Mullahy, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Garrison Wade was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
University Christian came out on top against Rocky Bayou Christian on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Christians were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Knights. The Christians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Miles Tyson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Julius LaRosa was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bubba Crouch, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
University Christian has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7-1.
St. Joseph Academy beat University Christian 7-3 when the teams last played last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flashes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
