After flying high against Mt. Diablo last Wednesday, Concord came back down to earth. The Concord Bears were beaten by the Miramonte Matadors 72-45 on Friday. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Matadors from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from Leonidas Garcia, who posted 13 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Garcia has posted since back in November of 2024.

Concord will head out to take on Benicia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benicia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Concord likes a good challenge. As for Miramonte, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-67 victory against Tokay on the 18th.
